Knowledge is power
Where did the idea for Captivade come from?
From early ages even the thought of being chased causes adrenaline to flow. Sketches of a worldwide search game were created late at night and refined during the months of lockdown...
Is Captivade suitable for people with colour-blindness?
Not presently. This is something that has been helpfully pointed out to us, and which we will endeavour to change when further copies are made.
I have a different question about Captivade, can you answer it?
Sure! Just email us at contact@mewstonegames.com
When will the second edition of Captivade be available?
It is now in stock - if you are in the UK and have Amazon Prime it can be with you very quickly!
Can I get a copy if I live outside of the UK?
Currently the only way to purchase your own copy of Captivade is via amazon.co.uk. As and when the game has received sufficient positive feedback we can then consider making it available in the US and other markets.
How do you play Captivade?
A pdf of the rules booklet for the second edition is available to download here. If you have the first edition you have all the parts needed to play this revised version (revised travel log sheets are available here for printing.)
How is the second edition of Captivade different to the first?
In the light of the helpful feedback we received the following changes were made:
- Expanded, sharpened and clarified rules
- Improved & developed gameplay
- Removal of escapee pawns & prison card
- Revised event cards & travel logs
- Improved colours
- Sharks...
We are delighted in how the second edition has turned out, and have already heard many reports of thrilling chases! It seems to be an excellent balance of skill, bluff and good fortune -
we hope you really enjoy it!
Must I declare straight away that I am the second location that an agent searches? (Another escapee could be in the first place they search.)
Yes. If there is indeed another escapee in the first location that an agent searches then the odds are that they will not be able to attempt to capture you, as they will probably be taking them back to Paigntonville Prison. However, your location is still discovered either way.
Are you still interested in feedback?
Absolutely, we would love to hear your comments!
